Alonzo Johnson is a minister and educator ordained in the Presbyterian Church USA, with over 20 years experience working in congregational, urban ministry, youth ministry and academic settings. Skilled in research, teaching, written and oral communication. Strong interest in existential, Neo-Orthodox, liberation, and postmodern theologies, Christian education and pastoral care. Proficient in creating, designing, planning and implementing workshops and events centered around spirituality, education, leadership development, sociocultural issues and pastoral care. Strong passion for creating, engaging and challenging arts-education ministries for youth and adults.
Alonzo provides direction, coordination, strategic and theological vision to the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People ministry and its commitments to social, racial, and economic justice. He serves as the key liaison between the National Committee on Self-Development of People and the Presbyterian Mission Agency. He promotes and interprets the ministry of SDOP to congregations, mid councils, ecumenical and community partners.
