Biography

Yvette A Flunder is an advocate for justice and the founder and senior pastor of City of Refuge United Church of Christ. She is a graduate of the Certificate of Ministry Studies and Master of Arts programs at Pacific School of Religion, and she received her Doctor of Ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Since 2003, Flunder has served as presiding bishop of the Fellowship of Affirming Ministries, a multidenominational coalition of over 100 primarily African American Christian leaders and laity representing churches and faith-based organizations from the United States, Mexico, three countries in Africa, and Asia. TFAM is in covenantal relationship with the United Church of Christ, the Metropolitan Community Church, and the Centers for Spiritual Living.
