Candler School of Theology is grounded in the Christian faith and shaped by the Wesleyan tradition of evangelical piety, ecumenical openness, and social concern. Our mission is to educate faithful and creative leaders for the church’s ministries throughout the world. We’re a diverse community of committed learners (teachers included!) called in countless ways to enlist our hearts, minds, and hands in the study of theology and in service to God, the church, and the world. Each of us brings our own gifts and story, and together we weave these threads to create the tapestry that is Candler. Though there’s infinite variety in the details, if you step back, you can see patterns emerge in the fabric—patterns that give shape to “The Candler Experience.”
