Why FOH?

Thirty-three years ago, a few hundred pastors from around the country gathered together to learn and converse about preaching in a contemporary context. Today, the Festival of Homiletics is a wide-reaching, four-day conference designed to inspire discourse about preaching and worship in the context of modern society among our thousands of participants.

About Event

This Year’s Theme:
Preaching to Heal the Divide

Preachers today carry the weight of proclaiming the Gospel and helping their communities navigate through deeply divisive times. They need resources, wisdom, and support to serve as agents of healing and reconciliation. The 2025 Festival of Homiletics aims to provide exactly that—practical tools, theological frameworks, and spiritual nourishment for the vital work of bridge-building through preaching.

What We Love About Festival of Homiletics

"This is a hell of a time to be a pastor preaching the Gospel in the United States and this was the perfect tonic.”

"Hearing God’s word preached from different perspectives and traditions [has helped] my soul [to be] fed and renewed."

“For me the most valuable part was the sermons. They instruct, uplift, and broaden my view.”

“I felt the same with the Festival in DC. Awareness. The opening of my mind and heart. More and more scales falling from my eyes as I hear new voices.”

“[I love the] exposure to brilliant minds, pastors, preachers who are thinking deeply and bionically and theologically about big issues.”

“Many speakers were vulnerable and passionate as they spoke of hope and justice. They were able to say 'this is hard, and we all are struggling' while still speaking desperately needed hope to all.”
