Will Willimon

Professor of the Practice of Christian Ministry, Duke Divinity School

Biography

For 20 years, William H. Willimon was dean of the chapel and professor of Christian ministry at Duke University. He served as pastor of churches in Georgia and South Carolina. A graduate of Wofford College, Willimon holds a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School and a Doctor of Sacred Theology from Emory University. He has been awarded honorary degrees from a dozen colleges and universities. In 1992, he was named the first distinguished alumnus of Yale Divin­ity School. He is the author of 60 books. His “Worship as Pastoral Care” was selected as one of the 10 most useful books for pastors in 1979 by the Academy of Parish Clergy.
