Preachers, we are on the other side of a collective trauma, and we have yet to realize fully its global, national, ecclesial, and individual effects—which will be true even a year from now. Since there is no going back to life before the storm, what does our preaching need to be and do going forward? How will our preaching and leadership in this century be altered because of this pandemic? How have you changed?
If COVID-19 has taught us anything homiletically, it is that trauma should be a regular part of our preaching. The Festival of Homiletics 2022 will create space for learning and conversation that honors what we have been through—and what kind of preachers we want to be as survivors of the storm. Christian preaching knows it can’t get to the resurrection without going through the cross. But COVID-19 revealed that we are less aware of what it means to preach resurrection with the cross remaining.
Be inspired by God’s Word proclaimed by some of the nation’s finest ministers and teachers. Experience the fellowship of hundreds of preachers. Learn and worship in an atmosphere that is dynamic, friendly, nurturing, and prophetic. Come renew, refresh, and recharge your spirit.
